Slimey to be included in eyeOS!

July 7th, 2008 by idesoto in News

Another great milestone in Slimey’s history: Slimey is to be included in eyeOS!

The person in charge of adapting Slimey to eyeOS was Edouard Daubin, a developer of many eyeOS apps, with a little help from me. The adaptation is already done and eyeShow is already installable under eyeOS. there are plans to release it as one of the default apps on the next version.

As you know Slimey is already integrated to OpenGoo, and there are currently plans to integrate it to a CMS (more details on that soon).

If you know HTML and JavaScript and would like to help Slimey grow into a full-fledged app please contact me at ignacio.desoto@gmail.com.

Welcome to Project Slimey!

What is Slimey?

  • Slimey is an open source web slideshow editor.
  • Slimey was born from the OpenGoo web office to fill the need for a slideshow editor, as there was no other open source alternative.
  • Slimey uses the SLIM format. SLIM stands for Slideshows Microformat and is an extension to the S5 format. SLIM is based exclusively on the following standards: HTML, Javascript, CSS. SLIM slideshows can be run with Slime, an engine also based on HTML, Javascript and CSS, which can be embedded on any web page. SLIM and Slime are both subprojects of Slimey.
  • Slimey is an ambitious project with an extensive roadmap. The first version (0.1) offers basic text formatting, images, undo and redo capabilities, but there are plans to include many great and innovative features. Since Slimey is open source software it needs your help to reach its goals. You can help by testing it, submitting bug fixes, suggesting new features, helping with the coding, filling the wiki or just by spreading the word.
